The AJ1-85 artwork was completed in 2020.
It is a digital artwork depicting the Air Jordan 1's released 1985 and immortalised by Michael Jordan in his rookie year.
This work was created as an original 1-off in a predominantly vector format with some leather and concrete textures being images wrapped in a vector mask (such as the logo symbol, shoe body background and other highlights).
It has some Brutalism-inspired block characters with exciting pop art inspired bright colours with layer upon layer of detail. The hundreds of layers each with unique transparency settings create an amazing depth of colour for this piece. Displayed at a large size, this would be an amazing feature art piece for any corporate art collection or the interior of a contemporary home or warehouse conversion.
The original vector file is approximately 485mb and was created at over 17000 pixels. Whilst being created, each file save took over 30 minutes to process! An earlier version of the work was lost due to a computer error when saving the file.
Being a predominantly vector created art piece, it can be resized infinitely without loss of quality. If you are interested in purchasing as an NFT with the option (at additional cost) of having the artwork printed and mounted, or to oversee the installation into larger premises or corporate spaces we can provide this service. The original print file can also be supplied as an option.
From start to finish the artwork took place over the course of several weeks including a couple of all-nighters. I would hate to know how many hours it took to complete this piece in total....
