You’ve got a great website, your SEO is doing what it’s supposed to and you’ve set up some call to action’s (CTA’s) on your site.

You’re sitting pretty, feeling chuffed until you realise..... you're not getting any leads!

A website is a great vehicle for generating leads.

And when it doesn’t, you need to look at the reasons why. If you’ve got CTA’s set up, then that’s a great place to start.

Here are 4 ways to ensure your CTA’s get some traction!

  1. It’s all about position. Where is your CTA located? If it’s only located in the footer of your website, then chances are not many people are seeing it. Especially if you’ve got a LOT of text in your website that requires a good amount of scrolling to get to the bottom. Place your CTA’s strategically throughout the page – including the top, middle AND bottom. And if you’ve got a great web designer, pin the CTA so it’s always visible, no matter where the visitor is on the website.
  2. The words. Yes, the words. Wording your CTA is SUPER important! We want to drive ACTION and URGENCY! Go for action language such as BUY NOW, LEARN MORE, SIGN UP, DOWNLOAD, START, GET etc. You get the picture. Tell your website visitor what you want them to do. Using a sense of urgency also helps by using words such as now, today, immediately.
  3. Consider the offer. If you were a visitor on your website would YOU want the offer? What will the visitor get if they put their details into your web form? What VALUE will they receive from your offer. Your web visitor will weigh up what value they are getting versus being subscribed to your email list. If the benefit outweighs the cost, then, my friend, you have yourself a lead.
  4. Stand out. Your CTA needs to stand out. It doesn’t need bells, whistles and jazz-hands, but it DOES need to catch the eye. Using a contrasting colour to the website background helps, along with having a BUTTON rather than a text link. You want the visitor to locate the CTA as quickly as possible and press!

Ultimately, your website is there to assist with lead generation and CTA’s are a great way to do it.
