The Golf Centre contacted us to help them create a strong brand for their new name. Previously known as Coffs City Golf Centre or The Pro Shop at Coffs Harbour Golf Club, the aim of the owner was to create a brand that could be easily recognised and one that could expand with the business, across multiple locations. The brand needed to be versatile to accommodate placement on things like POS items, retail products, gift vouchers, apparel, digital marketing and a future website.
The ultimate aim of The Golf Centre was to create brand awareness and brand recognition through their logo as the go-to place for things like golf coaching, custom golf club fitting and the retail outlet/store, located at the Coffs Harbour Golf Club. A contemporary logo was designed that had opposite elements, including colour, typeface style and overall look, to many local and national competitors, both bricks and mortar and online web based stores.
The initial concepts created were knocked back, so we kept the lines of communication open as we kept simplifying the flag and circular element, to land on the current logo. It was imperative to both us and the client that there weren’t too many cliché’s such as a golf ball or golf club that other competitors have used. We created the icon part of the ‘G’ as representative of a golfer’s swing arc, with the golf flag being the end goal of a successful swing.
We are excited about the future of The Golf Centre, as they look to have us start work on their website in early 2022. We look forward to seeing this new brand continuing to be rolled out over the coming months.
